SUMMARY:Calabria Foti
DESCRIPTION:Calabria Foti is an American singer\, violinist\, composer\, arranger\, author\, and educator. A consummate musician and a dynamic entertainer\, Calabria is a connoisseur of music\, from Classical to Broadway.  Ms. Foti’s recordings and live shows have been praised by such diverse artists as piano virtuoso Van Cliburn\, composer Johnny Mandel\, trumpeter Chris Botti\, and a host of other music and entertainment luminaries. Upon hearing her CD\, “A Lovely Way To Spend An Evening” (2007\, MoCo Records)\, legendary singer Johnny Mathis said\, “Listening to a beautiful voice is one of my greatest pleasures in life. Listening to this recording of Calabria Foti’s voice is some of the most beautiful and artistic music I have ever heard. She is a treasure. What a joy!” \nBorn into a family of musicians and music educators\, Calabria was exposed to classical\, jazz\, and popular music at a young age. Passionate about movie musicals and classic films of the late 1920s on\, Ms. Foti calls herself a “throwback”\, in love with the period of American history that produced the songs of the Great American Songbook and the films from The Golden Age of Hollywood. \nHer highly acclaimed CDs are a testimony to her musical sensibilities\, and can be heard regularly on jazz radio and adult standards formats throughout the world. She has shared the spotlight and the microphone with TV’s Seth MacFarlane and in 2013\, the two paired up to record the duet\, “Let’s Fall in Love”\, which garnered a Grammy Award nomination. \nEqually at home performing musical theatre\, jazz\, cabaret\, or her own original songs\, Calabria has been called a “master of improvisation and interpretation”\, and her voice has graced several major motion picture and television soundtracks. \nAlso an accomplished violinist\, Calabria created the jazz violin sound for Fox TV’s Lisa Simpson\, performed the virtuosic violin solo for the long-running theme to PBS’ Great Performances\, and was a featured soloist in the films Muppets Most Wanted and Sherlock Holmes. \nWith a delightful speaking voice and a sparkling personality\, Ms. Foti has hosted the internationally syndicated radio program\, “Music Of Your Life”\, and is heard occasionally as a guest host on Sirius/XM Radio’s Siriusly Sinatra “Playing Favorites”\, where she enthusiastically discusses and plays the music she loves so much. SUMMARY:Mozart’s Così fan tutte
DESCRIPTION:Opera luminary Renée Fleming directs rising stars from Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS program in Mozart’s sublime—and some may say ridiculous—sex farce. See what unfolds when an old cynic makes a bet with two younger friends that their fiancées will be unfaithful. The plot may seem silly on its face\, but through the genius of Mozart’s music and DaPonte’s libretto\, you may discover deeper meanings and questions about the nature of love\, the conflict between reason and emotion\, and the consequences of idealizing others. Hear some of the most exquisite music ever written for the opera stage in the intimate and historic Wheeler Opera House! Ticketing for this event is through the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS). For event-specific and ticket-related questions\, please contact AMFS at https://www.aspenmusicfestival.com/events/buy-tickets. For venue related questions\, please contact the Wheeler Opera House.

SUMMARY:Pure Prairie League
DESCRIPTION:With over 50 years of groundbreaking music behind them\, Pure Prairie League remains a vital force in country-rock. From their roots in 1960s Ohio to their current lineup—featuring drummer Scott Thompson\, bassist Jared Camic\, keyboardist Randy Harper\, guitarist/vocalist Jeff Zona\, and pedal steel/saxophonist John Heinrich—the band continues to deliver high-energy performances and timeless sound. Their sound and style has been described as “sweet memories with edgy\, contemporary muscle. Their vocals are as strong as Kentucky moonshine and the musicianship and performance skills are as sharp as a straight razor”. \nTheir breakthrough album Bustin’ Out gave the world the enduring hit “Amie\,” and cemented their place as pioneers of the genre. With a legacy that includes collaborations with icons like Vince Gill\, Chet Atkins\, Emmylou Harris\, and Don Felder\, Pure Prairie League’s influence can be heard in today’s country-rock artists from Keith Urban to Wilco. \nNow touring in support of their new album\, Back On Track\, Pure Prairie League proves that after six decades\, they’re still blazing the trail they helped create. \n

SUMMARY:An Evening With Lindsay Lou
DESCRIPTION:“I saw a literal manifestation of the sacred feminine and had this profound sense that I was meant to embody it\,” recalls celebrated singer-songwriter Lindsay Lou after journeying through a hallucinogenic ritual that would inform the way she processed waves of grief in the sea of change ahead of her. The loss of her grandmother\, the end of her marriage\, and the overwhelming turmoil of COVID lockdowns found the Nashville-based artist on a spiritual journey of self-knowledge and healing with this gift from the mystic swirl. \n“Guided by life experiences\, Lindsay Lou’s sound and songwriting continues to evolve and intertwine her sturdy Bluegrass roots with progressive Americana and Folk.” – PBS \nOn her new album Queen of Time (due September 29th from Kill Rock Stars)\, Lou explores that quest across ten tracks of tender\, heartbreakingly beautiful music. With this new vision of womanhood in mind. \nThis event is presented by Roaring Fork Sessions.  \n

SUMMARY:Iris DeMent
DESCRIPTION:Iris DeMent brings her powerful new album\, Workin’ On A World\, to Aspen for an evening of unforgettable music and reflection. Known for her deeply moving voice—described by John Prine as “like you’ve heard\, but not really”—DeMent has long been one of America’s most respected singer-songwriters. Her music blends gospel\, hymns\, and old country traditions with a fierce commitment to truth and justice. \nWith a career spanning over three decades\, DeMent’s debut album Infamous Angel was recently named one of Rolling Stone’s “Greatest Country Albums of All Time.” Her follow-up records\, My Life and The Way I Should\, both earned GRAMMY nominations. Tracks like “How Long” and “Warriors of Love” pay tribute to figures like Martin Luther King and John Lewis\, while “Say A Good Word” and “Waycross\, Georgia” explore themes of compassion\, aging\, and healing. The album\, six years in the making\, was co-produced with Richard Bennett\, Pieta Brown\, and Jim Rooney\, and completed in Nashville in 2022. \nThis performance is a rare opportunity to experience DeMent’s music live—songs that serve as both balm and battle cry in uncertain times. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to her work\, this show promises to be a moving and memorable night.

SUMMARY:Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon & Erik Deutsch of Black Crowes
DESCRIPTION:In Colorado in 2016\, pianist Erik Deutsch ( Black Crowes) and banjoist Andy Thorn (Leftover Salmon) met for the first time\, when Erik showed up for his first Leftover Salmon gig at the Stanley Hotel. It didn’t take long for the like-minded musicians to click. Over the next four years\, Leftover Salmon’s stage-left lit up as the two developed an undeniable musical chemistry. In their original collaborations\, they blend piano and banjo to create lush acoustic landscapes and classical-inflected forays. Their original songs dance between bluegrass\, jazz\, and folk\, while showcasing the musical connection and language that these two accomplished players have honed on stage over the years. \nLeftover Salmon banjo player Andy Thorn never expected to go viral. But in 2021\, he was in his backyard\, playing an improvised banjo tune to a wild fox\, when his wife caught the whole thing on video. The video made headlines around the world. Soon\, Andy was interviewed on the Kelly Clarkson Show and A & E’s Neighborhood Wars. Even NPR’s Political Gabfest discussed the video. A New York Times writer called it “a moment plucked from Aesop.” \nStunned by the publicity\, Andy finally recorded it (“Aesop Mountain”)\, along with 14 other banjo instrumentals. The resulting album\, “Songs of the Sunrise Fox\,” stands in contrast to the music Andy normally plays with Leftover Salmon. This album isn’t about the flashy banjo picking favored by jam bands. Instead\, it’s the banjo melodies Andy would play for his friend “Foxy” at sunrise. \n \nPianist and genre-bending sideman\, Erik Deutsch currently resides in Mexico City. Over the 30-year span of his career in Brooklyn and Boulder\, he has performed and recorded with pop\, rock\, country\, and jazz artists like Norah Jones\, Citizen Cope\, Shooter Jennings\, Shelby Lynne\,  Joe Russo\, Steven Tyler\, Ron Wood\, Lukas Nelson\, Levon Helm\, John Scofield\, Phil Lesh\, Gary Clark Jr.\, Bill Kreutzman\, Del McCoury\, Warren Haynes\, Karl Denson\, and many more. \nSince 2022\, Erik has been the full-time keyboardist for rock legends The Black Crowes\, performing on five different continents and being an integral musical contributor to their Grammy-nominated album ‘Happiness Bastards’. \nA prolific composer and bandleader in his own right\, Erik’s eight solo albums have received critical acclaim by RollingStone\, Jazz Times\, USA Today\, and the Huffington Post\, including Relix magazine naming Deutsch’s album ‘Outlaw Jazz’ the #16 best album of 2015. Recently voted the #5 Rising Star Organist in Downbeat Magazine’s annual poll\, and  recognized in consecutive years. Erik’s 9th LP—’This Was Then’—is due in July of 2025 on Hammer & String. \n \n

SUMMARY:Sam Grisman Project
DESCRIPTION:Sam Grisman is a bass player\, music appreciator\, and bandleader who grew up in Mill Valley\, California in a home where some of the great acoustic music of our time was being recorded on a regular basis. His father\, legendary mandolinist\, composer\, and producer\, David Grisman\, was constantly having friends come over to his home studio for recording sessions and rehearsals. These friends\, such as Doc Watson\, Jerry Garcia\, John Hartford\, Mike Seeger\, and Tony Rice all left an impression on the younger Grisman and inspired him to pursue a life making music with his many talented friends. \n“They don’t just play this music. They live it. And they make you feel like you’re part of it too.” — No Depression \nSam Grisman Project was created to shed light on the music that Sam grew up around\, and highlight that music’s influence on the members of the collective and in the greater music community. The band’s shows create a safe space where the band and audience can bask in the shared love and reverence for the great music and musicians who continue to inspire us all. \nThe friends who make up Sam Grisman Project are a rotating cadre of acousticians who are some of the brightest individual voices on their respective instruments. Members of this rotating cast of instrumental wizards include guitarists Max Flansburg\, Logan Ledger\, Sam Leslie\, Henry Moser\, Jesse Harper\, and Jefferson Hamer\, mandolinists Dominick Leslie\, Joe K. Walsh\, Matt Flinner\, and Jesse Appelman\, clawhammer banjo maestro Victor Furtado\, fiddlers John Mailander\, Alex Hargreaves\, Nate Leath\, Shad Cobb\, and Phoebe Hunt\, cellist Nat Smith\, and Todd Livingston on the Dobro. \n“This isn’t nostalgia. It’s a living breathing celebration led by musicians who understand the soul of the music.” — Bluegrass Today \nThe band also frequently collaborates with legendary singer\, songwriter\, and bluegrass pioneer Peter Rowan\, a deeply meaningful connection for Sam and the band tying directly back to his father David Grisman and the Old and In the Way legacy. Over the years Sam Grisman Project has been joined by a wide range of spontaneous and exciting guests including David Grisman\, John Sebastian\, Tim O’Brien\, Billy Strings\, Maria Muldaur\, Margo Price\, and many more. \nThis ever evolving collective of exceptional humans who happen to be incredible musicians is a testament to the abundance of joy\, and wealth of experiences that growing up around this timeless music has brought into the younger Grisman’s life. Sam Grisman Project is committed to putting their love\, gratitude\, and individuality into the music that they share on stage each night\, and to participating in the community effort of preserving\, expanding\, and appreciating great American acoustic music. \n“One of the most joyful and reverent tributes to the Grateful Dawg legacy you’ll ever witness.” — Relix Magazine \nTo preserve the sonic integrity of their instruments and voices\, SGP plays acoustic music into condenser microphones. The sound on stage is fully acoustic and sensitive\, so we kindly ask that you save conversations for before and after the show or during the set break. Thanks for coming and thanks for listening. We hope you enjoy the music. \nCo-presented by Wheeler Associates & Wheeler Opera House

Her explorations into the guitar and multimedia have led to the creation of groundbreaking work such as The Neck Is A Bridge To The Body\, Modern Yesterdays\, and a new multi-media musical production for children called BUGS. \nKaki continues to create\, perform\, and lend her musical voice to the forefront of contemporary music\, as shown on her 2025 EP\, Tutto Passa\, and recent album\, SEI\, the soundtrack to a unique performance piece where guitarists become dancers\, coordinating their whole bodies to perform the rigors of both choreography and composition. Co-written/produced/performed with Tamar Eisenman\, SEI is an all-instrumental album that fits in well with the playlists of Kaki King fans worldwide. Kaki continues to tour the United States and Europe in 2025 while also scheduling the release of two EPs for summer and fall.
