DESCRIPTION:+ERBA: A Forest in the City\, a special Aspen edition commissioned by the Wheeler Opera House\, is an interactive environmental piece that Compagnia TPO has adapted to our valley’s character\, monuments\, and ecosystem. Their pioneering\, multi-disciplinary performances meld music\, dance\, art\, sculpture\, digital media\, lighting\, and sound into a one-of-kind\, immersive experience. \nThe interactive nature of this performance is most appropriate for children ages 4-10\, as the audience will be seated on the stage with the performers. \nLast May\, the company studied the Roaring Fork Valley’s landscapes then performed a movement workshop mimicking the cycle of butterflies at the Riverview School in Glenwood Springs. Their pioneering\, multi-disciplinary performances meld music\, dance\, art\, sculpture\, digital media\, lighting\, and sound into a one-of-kind\, interactive experience. \nBased in Prato\, Italy\, Compagnia TPO uses interactive\, digital scenery to enhance theatrical dance performances that engage young audiences. Using their bodies to “paint” and “play music” with the ever-changing visuals onstage\, the performers gently invite children in the audience to join them in their creative movement. Images and sounds interface with the bodies onstage\, transforming live gestures and virtual landscapes into a charming interactive gallery. The company’s work has received awards for innovation and artistry in China\, Poland\, Italy\, the United States and Spain.

The music they create together is like weather systems meeting in the sky\, Bonnie’s warmly haunting voice either merging with the rhythms and melodies of the band or providing a counterpoint and transforming it.

His five solo shows Sleepwalk With Me\, My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend\, Thank God For Jokes\, The New One\, and The Old Man & The Pool enjoyed successful runs on and off Broadway and became hit Netflix comedy specials. The shows merge storytelling and comedy in a way that The New York Times has called “Birbiglian.” Birbiglia also wrote\, directed\, and starred in the films Sleepwalk with Me and Don’t Think Twice. As an actor\, Birbiglia has appeared in the films Trainwreck\, The Fault in Our Stars\, Popstar\, A Man Called Otto as well as TV roles in Orange Is the New Black and Billions. He hosts the podcast Mike Birbiglia’s Working It Out. \n

DESCRIPTION:Spider Lives is a journey into the rich history of professional ski racing through the story of renowned American ski hero\, Spider Sabich. This award-winning USSA Hall of Fame tribute film chronicles Spider’s career trajectory from racing phenom to Olympian; from World Cup winner to 2-time World Pro Tour champion\, including an epic season-long battle with triple Olympic gold medalist Jean-Claude Killy for the 1973 Pro title\, which came down to a final battle in the final race on the slopes of Spider’s adopted hometown of Aspen. Spider’s tragic passing just a few years later\, at 31 years old\, sent shock waves through the town and the ski world\, where he seemed destined to become an industry icon in his post-competitive life.
