She recently developed an underwater\, wearable computer that can produce dolphin signature whistles and whistles that represent objects. This device can also interpret whistles from dolphins. A dolphin might for example\, ask for an object\, such as a scarf to play with\, which Dr. Herzing then gives the dolphin.\nA harp seal pup\, about 14 days old\, makes its first swim in the icy waters of Canada’s Gulf of St. Lawrence.

DESCRIPTION:Aspen Historical Society is honored to present the award-winning documentary film Mission Mt. Mangart for a screening and discussion with filmmaker and lifelong Colorado-based skier\, Chris Anthony. The film shares the story of the 10th Mt. Division\, America’s first and only ski troop that was based out of Camp Hale near Leadville\, CO-just over Independence Pass from Aspen. The experimental light infantry unit trained in the valleys around Aspen-then a quiet former mining town. Following the war\, veterans from the 10th returned to the American West\, including the Roaring Fork Valley\, where they were involved in the creation of the area’s ski resorts.
