Our ushers play a vital role in the audience experience—welcoming patrons, supporting performances, and helping create a warm, inclusive atmosphere. We’re always looking for friendly, engaged volunteers who enjoy teamwork and making guests feel at home.
Volunteering at the Wheeler Opera House is a rewarding way to connect with the arts, meet fellow community members, and see an incredible range of shows—from comedy to film to music and more.
As a Wheeler volunteer, you’ll help create memorable experiences for our audiences, artists, and the Aspen community while enjoying a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse of live events. Join us and be part of the experience!
Volunteer Expectations
- Be an ambassador for the Wheeler Opera House and the City of Aspen
- Arrive prior to doors to attend our pre-show volunteer meeting
- Warmly welcome patrons and helpfully assist them to their seats
- Be attentive to the audience during the show to ensure house policies are being followed
- Readily assist in the event of an emergency evacuation
- Advocate for the Wheeler as a place where all are welcome
