Circa’s Humans 2.0 Brings Next-Level Circus
to the Wheeler Opera House

The Wheeler Opera House is thrilled to present Humans 2.0, the internationally celebrated contemporary circus production by Circa, on Wednesday, October 22 at 6:30 PM. A symphony of acrobatics, sound and light, this is next level circus by Circa.

Praised by critics worldwide, Humans 2.0 has been called “a flawless display of human physicality” –The Scotsman and “a striking spectacle of beauty”- La Presse. The production has toured extensively across Australia, Europe, and North America, captivating audiences with its raw physicality and poetic storytelling.

Created by Yaron Lifschitz, Circa’s Artistic Director and CEO, Humans 2.0 is intimate, primal and deeply engaged with the challenge of being human.

“For me the beauty of circus is its ability to present powerful truths and ephemeral states with the thrill of the embodied, says Lifschitz explains. “It contains within it the charge of true revelation.”

Ten bodies appear in a flash of light. They move in harmony for a fleeting moment and then descend into a sinuous trance. Towers grow and decay, bodies leap and are caught, as physical limits are pushed to their extreme. Can we ever find a perfect balance or is adapting to constant change the only way forward?

This next chapter of Circa’s internationally acclaimed Humans is a tightly woven choreography of bodies, pulsing with music by composer Ori Lichtik and revealed in Paul Jackson’s dramatic lighting.

Humans 2.0 is commissioned by The Mondavi Center, UC Davis. Circa acknowledges the assistance of the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
