Spotlight on Local Talent
The Wheeler announces Roaring Fork Rising, a new initiative designed to celebrate and support local talent in the Roaring Fork Valley. Hosted in The Vault, this new program will offer artists from Aspen to New Castle the opportunity to perform original work and connect with the community through live events at the historic Wheeler Opera House.
How to Apply
Applications for Roaring Fork Rising are now open to musicians, comedians, storytellers, and multi-disciplinary artists. Click here to submit your application. The application portal for 2025 will close on February 15.
Program Details and Criteria

- Eligibility: Open to performers aged 18 and older residing in one of these Roaring Fork Valley zip codes: Aspen (81611), Snowmass Village (81615), Woody Creek (81656), Old Snowmass (81654), Basalt (81621), Carbondale (81623), Glenwood Springs (81601), or New Castle (81647).
- Performance Requirements: The stage can only support a maximum of four performers at one time. Full drum sets cannot be supported in this space.
- Application Process: Artists must submit a short bio or description of their work, accompanied by video, audio, or portfolio samples. Applications should also explain the impact of art in the Roaring Fork Valley and the artist’s contribution to the community.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and selected artists will be asked to provide a W-9 with a valid address from the listed zip codes. Performers can increase their chances of selection by listing multiple dates of availability.
